There are a lot of you who do not smoke. There are also a lot of you where smoking is an important part of your life. I can hear everyone saying, “how can smoking be an important part of your life… that’s ridiculous!” Well, if you never smoked, you don’t have a clue and just skip this article all together. If you do smoke, then read on.
All of us smoke for different reasons. Most of us would like to quit smoking but it’s not that easy. Why? Sure nicotine is addicting but it’s not that hard to get weened off of it. The nicotine patch does a good job of that. For most of us out there, it’s the events based around smoking that is the hardest to give up. We go outside for a few minutes to have a smoke. We may socialize during those few minutes. We’re used to having something to puff on and having something physical in our hands to “play with”. A lot of us smoke after easting a meal. Our life is pretty much based around the physical habits, not just the nicotine.
You can try to replace those physical habits with gum (but your jaw gets tired) or suckers (you get tired of sugar). There is really nothing that can replace the physical needs of the smoking habit. To change that sends a lot of us into nervous spells and causes other physical problems. You can’t change these overnight or even weeks.
Okay, I hear you cold turkey folks saying “I did it without any problems”. Sure, maybe you did… but for 90% of the rest of the smoking crowd, it’s not that easy when your everyday life evolves around catching a smoke here and there, getting up from your desk and stepping out for a quick break to get away, etc. There are a lot of physical habits that need to be broken.
Using an electronic cigarette supplies all of those physical needs… plus the nicotine. You can still get up and get away from the desk to “smoke” and socialize for a few minutes just like you did before. You can still drive and “smoke”. You can still eat a meal and have an after-dinner smoke. The only difference is… you’re not really smoking. The e-cigarette is a substitute for the real thing and it’s as real as it gets. Seriously, you can still do all the “habits” you had before that involved smoking except you not inhaling all the tar and poisonous chemicals. Just nicotine in a water vapor that is like smoke.
So with an electronic cigarette, you can still have your physical habits that were based around smoking but you’re not killing yourself in the process. It can’t get any easier than this. Over time, you may be able to modify your physical habits a bit to slowly change what you do but you don’t have to abruptly change these habits thanks to the e-cigarette.
